Windows to the soul.
Do you ever look in someone's eyes when they tell you how well things are going for them and you know that things aren't well at all? Our eyes truly are windows to the soul and if you take time and really pay attention to the people in your life you will see and have opportunities to reach out and touch those around you. Not just the people in your closest proximity, but strangers, in a grocery store, the dentist, doctor, anywhere and anyone.
I was at the grocery store one day and a clerk asked if she could help me find something. After I responded she asked me if I was married and, how long and how in the world had I made it so many years. She asked some tough questions and asked what she should do. I told her to pray, to seek out counseling and not to stay in a dangerous situation. She put her arms around me and cried and said "Thank You!" I have seen her several times since and she always comes up to me and hugs me and calls me a lifesaver. I am not a lifesaver. I am a people lover, a God lover. I try very hard to pay attention to people and not just say sharply "No, thank you and run through the aisles without listening to what people are really saying and looking into their eyes. We can help, it doesn't take much time to make a difference in peoples lives.
Just look at the eyes in this photo; Know what they are saying?
It is time to go to bed, Mom, NOW!
